Tottenham expected to sign 23-year-old attacker who ‘could be a £100/£150m player’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have the option to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently for a fee of around £30 million and Alasdair Gold believes that the North London giants are likely to wrap up the move.

There have been rumours that the 23-year-old Swedish winger could return to his parent club Juventus at the end of the season.

However, Gold has now revealed on his podcast that everything points towards a permanent move and the transfer could prove to be a major bargain in the future.

Apparently, Tottenham will have to pay £30 million and the payment will be spread over five seasons. It is a nominal price to pay for a prodigious young talent like Kulusevski.

“The feeling is that that’s it now. When they take the option and pay the money. Although the money is payable over five years, and it’s such a good deal. It’s a no-brainer. I know Kulusevski has had an inconsistent season this year, but he’s only going to get better and better,” Gold said.

“£30m spread over five years, why would you hesitate? He has featured prominently on all of the marketing for the game in Bangkok, that’s after his loan deal ends.

“Everything I hear at the club is they fully expect to take up that option in his agreement. I’m excited about the future of Kulusevski, we saw that last season and in glimpses this season.”

“If he is trained and coached properly, he could be a £100/£150m player, and £30m over five years is peanuts for a player like that.”

The 23-year-old made an immediate impact since his move to the Premier League, and although his performances have been underwhelming this season, he remains a top-class talent with huge potential.

If he is coached properly the Swedish winger could develop into one of the best attackers in the league and he could be a key player for Tottenham in the years to come.

Tottenham are already lacking in depth in the attacking department, and they cannot afford to weaken the side any further. Signing Kulusevski on a permanent deal should be a top priority for them, especially given the asking price.

The Swedish winger seems quite happy at the London club as well, and he will want to continue in the Premier League beyond this season.
