Tottenham enter race to sign 18-year-old attacking prodigy

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign the highly-rated Gambian attacker Adama Bojang.

The 18-year-old has turned heads with his performances in the U20 AFCON and Italian giants Napoli are looking to sign him at the end of the season as per Daily Mail.

The talented young striker has a bright future ahead of himself and a move to Spurs or Napoli would be a huge step up in his career. However, the striker must look to decide on his next move carefully. He cannot afford to join a club where he might not get ample game time to progress and develop.

Spurs need more depth in the attack and Bojang could be an understudy to Harry Kane. The England international will be a free agent in the summer of 2024 and the African talent could end up replacing Kane in the long run if he manages to adapt to English football and fulfil his potential.

At Napoli, he will be behind the likes of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is only 24 and he has a long-term contract with the Italian club.

Also, Spurs might be able to offer him a more lucrative package given the financial muscle of English clubs compared to Italian clubs.

The only complication for Tottenham is that the player might not qualify for a work permit right away and they might need to loan him out initially. It remains to be seen whether that is an option the player and the club are happy with.

Bojang has been linked with clubs like Nottingham Forest and Royal Antwerp as well.
