Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an enquiry for Marc Casado from Barcelona at the start of the summer transfer window.

They are yet to follow up on the enquiry with an official offer to sign the 21-year-old. They were not the only club interested in the player at the start of the window, and Chelsea made their move as well. Meanwhile, a report from Spanish publication SPORT claims that West Ham, Wolves and Bournemouth are keeping tabs on his situation.

Where will Marc Casado end up?

It will be interesting to see if any of these clubs come forward with an offer to sign him. The midfielder is available for a fee of £26 million this summer. He could prove to be a major bargain at that price. There is no doubt that he is a phenomenal young talent with a bright future, and he could develop into a future star for Tottenham. They need more defensive cover and physicality in the midfield, and the Spaniard would be the ideal acquisition.

He has been labelled as an “animal” because of his defensive work rate and physicality. He could be the ideal fit for Premier League football. It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham can get the deal across the line. They need a combative presence in the middle of the park, and the Barcelona star certainly fits the profile. He has recently won the league title with the Spanish club, and his winning experience could prove to be invaluable for the north London club.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League can be quite exciting for most young players, but the 21-year-old is enjoying his time at his boyhood club, and he has no reason to leave them. It will be difficult to convince him to move to England this summer.
