Tottenham Hotspur could look to bring Ashley Phillips back to the club during the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old defender is currently on loan at Stoke City, but a report from the Standard claims that Tottenham are now considering bringing him back to the club because of their current injury crisis.
The 19-year-old could be a useful option for Tottenham during the second half of the season. Radu Dragusin is currently the only fit central defender at the club with the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven sidelined with muscle injuries. Welsh international Ben Davies has a hamstring problem as well and Tottenham are clearly depleted at the back.
It remains to be seen whether they can make the necessary adjustments in the coming weeks. There is no doubt that they need to add more depth and quality to the defence. Apart from bringing Phillips back to the club, they should look to sign a quality central defender as well. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
