Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in midfield reinforcements and they have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to a report from Inter Live, Tottenham are keen on signing the 29-year-old Turkish midfielder and they could put ‘an offer of €35 million on the plate’ for the player.
It will be interesting to see if Inter Milan are willing to sanction his departure this summer.
The Italian outfit are reportedly going through financial difficulties and they could be tempted to sell the player if a lucrative offer is presented.
Calhanoglu has proven himself in the Italian league over the years and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham.
The midfielder chipped in with four goals and eight assists across all competitions last season. While there is no doubt that he would be a useful acquisition for Tottenham, it would be interesting to see Ange Postecoglou accommodates him in the starting lineup.
Tottenham have already signed a quality attacking midfielder in James Maddison and the 26-year-old England international is likely to be a regular starter.
Calhanoglu will also add creativity and goals from the middle of the park. The Turkish midfielder is exceptional with his set pieces as well.
He has similar qualities to Maddison and having both players at the club would improve the depth of the squad greatly.
However, Spurs need to reinforce the other areas of the squad as well and they cannot afford to splash out on another creative midfielder, especially with Maddison already at their disposal.
