Tottenham Hotspur remains keen on signing the Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson.
A report from Calciomercato. It claims that Tottenham could put a ‘significant sum’ of money on the table for the 26-year-old winger and the Italian publication describes Gudmundsson as a player with ‘great technical and dribbling ability’.
He is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he could slot into the number ten role as well. There is no doubt that Gudmundsson would be a quality acquisition for Tottenham and he would certainly help them improve going forward.
He will add flair and technical ability from the wide areas and he will help Spurs open up deep defences. The technically gifted midfielder is certainly good enough for the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham secure his services.
The winger is expected to cost around €30 million and Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to get the deal done. The reported asking price could look like a bargain if the Icelandic winger manages to adapt to English football quickly.
The player has been in impressive form this season, scoring 11 goals across all competitions. His numbers are likely to improve when he is playing in a better team alongside better players.
Tottenham have several quality attackers at their disposal and move to the Premier League could take him to a whole new level. Ange Postecoglou has been playing free-flowing attacking football at the north London club and Gudmundsson should be able to fit into his system and thrive in his attacking approach.
