Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing the Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old centre-back was linked with a move to the London club at the start of the season as well. It is no surprise that Bastoni is on Spurs’ radar given the fact that he worked with Antonio Conte during their time together at the Italian club.
Bastoni is undoubtedly one of the most talented young defenders in Italian football and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for Tottenham.
The Premier League club are looking to bring in a reliable partner for Cristian Romero and Bastoni certainly fits the profile. The defender will be out of contract at the end of the season and there have been rumours of a potential extension.
A report from Inter Live claims that the Italian giants are likely to offer him a new deal worth in excess of €5 million per season. However, Spurs could offer him wages of around €7 million.
The Londoners are not the only Premier League club looking to sign the defender and Manchester United could come forward with a lucrative offer of around €8 million per season.
It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan can convince the player to continue at San Siro and snub the lucrative offers from the Premier League as and when they arrive.
The 23-year-old has all the attributes to develop into a world-class defender, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
