Tottenham could ‘jump at the chance’ to sign three-time UCL winner

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur link with a move for the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The 36-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper will be a free agent in the summer and he has been linked with a number of English clubs.

A report from Footmercato claims that the goalkeeper wants to continue in the Premier League and clubs like Chelsea, Leicester, Brentford and Tottenham ‘could jump at the chance’ to sign him this summer.

Signing a player of his quality and experience on a free transfer could prove to be a real bargain. It is no secret that Spurs have to sign a quality goalkeeper in the summer and Navas would be a superb short-term addition.

Club legend Hugo Lloris has been quite poor this season and his performances have cost the side valuable points.

Navas could be his alternative in the short term and he would help Tottenham improve in the goalkeeping department.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can fend off the competition from London rivals Chelsea and sign the 36-year-old.

Navas knows what it takes to play for big clubs, having fought for major trophies at Real Madrid. The Costa Rican international has won one league title and three Champions League trophies during his time at the Spanish club and Tottenham could certainly use his winning experience and leadership qualities in the dressing room.

He won two league titles at Paris Saint-Germain as well.

The north London giants need to bring in multiple reinforcements to strengthen the squad all over the park and signing a quality goalkeeper on a free could prove to be too good an opportunity to pass up on.
