Tottenham could ‘activate the operation’ to sign 26-year-old target ‘next week’

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.

According to SPORT, the 26-year-old is keen on a move to the Premier League and Spurs could look to make a move for him.

The report claims that Tottenham could ‘activate the operation from next week’ and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona are prepared to sanction his departure.

The midfielder has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish club and he is thought to be open to the move to the Premier League.

Kessie has the physical attributes to thrive in the Premier League and he could prove to be a quality addition to Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club and the London club are waiting to finalise his transfer before making moves in the market.

Barcelona will probably look to recoup some money for the 26-year-old midfielder this summer and it makes sense to cash in on a player who is not a regular starter for them.

Barcelona are going through financial difficulties and they need the proceeds from his sale to strengthen their own squad.

If Tottenham submit a reasonable offer for the powerful midfielder, there is no reason why the two clubs cannot reach an agreement in the coming weeks.

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club and the London club will have to replace him adequately. Kessie could prove to be a quality acquisition.
