Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Flamengo attacker Pedro.
A report from the Independent claims that Tottenham are ‘considering a move’ for the 26-year-old striker, who has been in fine form for the Brazilian club.
The Brazilian international has scored 26 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions for Flamengo and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club.
The report claims that Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham hangs in the balance and the London club are currently considering alternatives.
The 29-year-old is one of the best players in the world and his departure will certainly weaken Tottenham and they will have to improve the squad significantly in order to fill the void left by him.
Pedro certainly has the quality to replace a certain percentage of Kane’s goalscoring output and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can agree on a deal with Flamengo for the player.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be hard to turn down for the 26-year-old striker and hope that his compatriot Richarlison can help convince him to join the club.
It would be a major step up in his career and the player will look to prove himself at the highest level.
Pedro will feel that succeeding in the Premier League will help him cement his place in the national team as well.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal to sign the Brazilian in the coming weeks.
