Tottenham player ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up a serious injury

Tottenham Hotspur are set to evaluate the futures of several players currently out on loan, but one of them has suffered a major setback.

Bryan Gil, who has spent the season at Girona, has sustained a severe injury that will rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.

As reported by AS, medical examinations have confirmed that Gil has suffered ACL and meniscus damage in his right knee. The extent of the injury could require surgery, keeping him sidelined for an extended period and casting uncertainty over his future.

This unfortunate setback not only impacts his loan spell but also raises concerns about his return to Tottenham and his availability for the upcoming season.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Spurs will have to assess whether he remains part of their long-term plans.

Since joining the Lilywhites in 2021 as part of a deal that saw Erik Lamela move to Sevilla, Gil has struggled to establish himself in North London.

He made his debut in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Paços de Ferreira and later featured in the Premier League as a late substitute in a win over Watford.

Despite showing glimpses of promise, injuries and limited game time prevented him from making a significant impact.

He was subsequently loaned to Valencia and Sevilla, where he found more playing opportunities, including featuring in the Copa del Rey final with Valencia in 2022.

Ahead of the ongoing season, Tottenham loaned him to Girona, where he played a key role before this unfortunate injury.

So far, he has made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

If surgery is required, Gil is expected to return to Tottenham for treatment.

His future remains uncertain, as Spurs will have to decide whether to reintegrate him into the squad or consider alternative options once he recovers.
