Tottenham battle four PL rivals for attacker who will cost in excess of £100m

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.

A report from TeamTalk claims that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old and they will face competition from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool as well.

Apparently, the striker is valued in excess of £100 million and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to spend that kind of money on him.

There is no doubt that the Republic of Ireland international is a prodigious talent and he has a big future ahead of him. He could be a key player for Tottenham in the coming seasons and the ideal replacement for Harry Kane.

South Korean international Son Heung-min has had to shoulder the goalscoring burden this season following the departure of Kane. Players like Richarlison have not been able to step up and Tottenham must invest in a quality striker.

Ferguson has shown his quality in the Premier League and he is certainly good enough to play for Spurs. Ange Postecoglou could help him develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential.

Although the reported asking price seems quite steep, the player might end up justifying the investment in the long run.

Tottenham sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich at the start of the season for a substantial amount of money and it remains to be seen whether they are ready to break the bank for Ferguson. The North London outfit should look to cash in on their underperformers and fund a move for the striker.
