Tottenham attacker’s latest instagram post after Conte kept him on the bench against Nottingham Forest

By Mehdi Gokal -

Arnaut Danjuma signed for Spurs on loan from Villareal in January but has struggled to get playing time since his move.

After a run of bad results that saw them get knocked out of the Champions League and the FA Cup as well as lose to Wolves, Spurs finally got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on the weekend.

Harry Kane scored a brace and Son scored the other as they capitalised on Liverpool’s shock 1-0 defeat to get a 6 point lead at the fourth place.

Harry Kane, Richarlison and Son started the match and Danjuma did not even get a chance to come off the bench as Conte brought on the likes of Lucas Moura and Kulusevski ahead of him.

And a frustrated Dutchman has now posted a a picture of himself on treadmill on his Instagram with the caption: “Days off don’t exist.”

Danjuma is clearly working hard to impress Conte but it seems like, just like Djed Spence, Danjuma is also one of the club’s signings and not Conte’s.

In fact, the Italian manager admitted in an honest presser that it was the club that wanted to sign him, indicating that he was not Conte’s preferred choice for an attacker as he was hoping to sign a proper No 10.

In the press conference, he said:

“I’m sorry for him because he arrived in January and the club wanted to sign him on loan. He has good characteristics and good quality and maybe he has not specific characteristics to be a number 10.”

“He’s more a second striker or a winger. I’m seeing his desire, his will in every training session and against Milan if we don’t have the red card for Romero, he was coming on to play with a 4-2-4. I have to try to find the best solution.”

This is not the first time Conte has publicly stated that a player was not his signing. Previously he claimed the same regarding Djed Spence and the player was not given a sniff of playing time.

With Conte set to leave the club in the summer, it is interesting to see how the new manager uses the right-back who was one of the best players in the Championship before his move to Spurs.
