Tottenham ‘linked’ with 24-year-old midfielder on Arsenal radar, star could cost €50m

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Arsenal target Ederson Dos Santos.

Ange Postecoglou has had an impressive start at Tottenham but there is still a lot of work to be done. While they are focused on securing Champions League football for next season, club officials have started planning for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reinforcing the midfield is going to be one of the priorities for the North London club and they have been ‘linked’ with Atalanta’s Ederson. According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, the North London club are interested in his services but will have to battle it out with Arsenal as well as a few other top clubs to secure his signatures.

The 24-year-old joined Salernitana from Brazilian outfit Corinthians in the winter of 2022. Six months later Atalanta acquired his services for a fee of €13 million. While the first season wasn’t as impressive, he seems to have brought the best out of himself in the ongoing season.

Ederson to Tottenham?

Ederson has been a key player for Atalanta

Ederson has featured in 38 matches this term and has even contributed towards seven goals. He has been the leader of their midfield and his performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.

With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg likely to leave to in the summer, Ederson could take his place in the Tottenham setup. He will bolster their midfield and could be a great option for the short as well as the long term.

But, Spurs might have to battle it out with Arsenal who are also looking to reinforce their midfield with Jorginho in the final phase of his career and Thomas Partey’s future at the club uncertain. Signing Ederson will require a significant financial investment as the report suggests Atalanta might look for a fee of around €50 million.
