Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori in the upcoming transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Chelsea player has caught the attention of the North London club due to his impressive performances for Milan this season.
Tomori has been a key player for Milan, helping them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will face city rivals Inter Milan for a spot in the final. His solid performances since joining the Italian club have made him a highly sought-after player, with Manchester United also reportedly “keeping tabs” on him.
Tottenham, who have struggled defensively this season and conceded more goals than any other team in the top half of the Premier League table, will be looking to strengthen up their backline in the summer transfer window.
However, the report suggests that Milan will not let Tomori leave without a fight. The Italian club values the defender highly and will only consider selling him for a substantial fee.
Tomori initially joined Milan on loan from Chelsea in January 2021 and impressed during his six-month spell, leading to a permanent move in the summer. The 25-year-old has continued to thrive in Italy and has been a standout performer for Milan this season.
He was also praised for his performance against Tottenham in the second leg of the Round of 16 where he put in a dominant man of the match performance, keeping the likes of Harry Kane quiet.
If Tottenham were to secure the services of Tomori, it would be a significant coup for the club and a step in the right direction towards strengthening their defense.
However, with Manchester United also interested in the defender, they may face tough competition for his signature.
