Tottenham are ‘engaged in talks’ to trio from Argentinean wife River Plate.
River Plate trio Claudio Echeverri, Agustin Ruberto and Ian Subiabre are attracting major interest from Premier League clubs and Tottenham are right in the thick of the race.
As per the report from 90min, the trio is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham, Manchester United and Brighton.
City are said to be leading the race to sign them having established good relationship with River Plate from their previous Julian Alvarez deal.
Chelsea are also said to be ‘working hard’ to secure the signings, in particular of Echeverri and Ruberto, both of whome turn 18 in January making them eligible for a move abroad.
Tottenham meanwhile along with Brighton and United have initiated talks to sign the three starlets.
The report also mentions that Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested in them and so are Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter.
Tottenham’s recruitment in the summer was outstanding. They signed the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon – all of them making an instant impact.
They also reportedly made €100m bid for Vitor Roque, the youngster who agreed to join Barcelona instead.
While the race for the River Plate trio looks like a crowded one, the fact that Tottenham are linked with players wanted by the best teams in the world is hugely encouraging.
