Tottenham ‘approached’ by super-agent with an opportunity to sign 27-goal star

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign the Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.

According to a report from the Sun, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes has ‘approached’ the North London club. In addition to that, Newcastle United and Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign the player as well.

Ramos has been outstanding for Benfica this past season and he showed glimpses of his class during the 2022 World Cup as well. The 21-year-old striker bagged a hattrick for his country against Switzerland.

Benfica value the striker at £80 million and Mendes is trying to spark a bidding war for the talented young striker.

Spurs could certainly use someone like him and it remains to be seen whether the Londoners come forward with an offer in the coming weeks.

Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs and the England international is thought to be a target for Manchester United. Spurs will need to replace him if he ends up leaving this summer.

Ramos would be a quality long-term option for the London club. He could lead the Spurs attack for the foreseeable future.

The Portuguese international has 27 goals and 12 assists across all competitions and he will be looking to make his mark in the Premier League if the transfer goes through.

Ramos is still only 21 and he is likely to get better with coaching and experience in the coming seasons.

The striker could end up justifying the £80m asking price in the long term.
