Tottenham approached by highly sought-after free agent

Tottenham have reportedly been approached by the representatives of French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who became a free agent after leaving Juventus earlier this summer.

According to TBR Football, Rabiot’s camp has initiated discussions with both Spurs and Arsenal about a possible move to North London.

Rabiot, who has garnered attention from Turkish sides Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, reportedly prefers to remain in Europe.

However, his high wage demands—rumored to be around £220,000 per week—could pose a significant obstacle for Premier League clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal.

The 29-year-old had a strong season with Juventus, making 35 appearances in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, contributing 5 goals and 3 assists.

He also played a key role in France’s Euro 2024 campaign, starting five matches as the team reached the semi-finals.

While Rabiot’s experience and quality would strengthen Tottenham’s midfield, manager Ange Postecoglou is known for being selective about signings, prioritising players who fit his tactical system.

Whether Spurs will proceed with an offer remains uncertain, especially given Rabiot’s salary expectations and Postecoglou’s cautious transfer approach.

Despite the hurdles, Rabiot’s availability as a free agent could still tempt Tottenham as they seek reinforcements for the season ahead.
