Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Jordan Pickford from Everton at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been a key player for club and country in recent seasons and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Spurs.
According to Football Transfers, Tottenham have already approached Everton regarding a summer move and they have held talks with the player’s entourage as well.
The goalkeeper is valued at £40 million and Spurs have the resources to afford him. It will be interesting to see if the two parties can come to an agreement in the coming weeks.
Tottenham must look to sign a replacement for club legend Hugo Lloris this summer. The 36-year-old is clearly past his peak and he is not good enough to start for them every week.
Pickford on the other hand, is in his prime and he could do a good job for Tottenham. The 29-year-old is a reliable shot-stopper and he has proven himself in the Premier League and at the international level with England.
He is likely to be tempted to take the next step in his career and a move to Spurs would be an exciting opportunity for him. Everton have been fighting for survival over the last couple of seasons and Pickford certainly deserves to play for a better team.
Spurs could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities at a higher level and compete for trophies.
