Tottenham and Chelsea among ‘candidates’ who could move for €37m-rated attacker

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were linked to the move for the Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa during the January transfer window.

The two London clubs were keen on signing the 18-year-old Norwegian winger, but the Belgian club agreed on a deal with Brentford instead. The Premier League side conducted a medical with the talented young winger, but they found an issue with a cartilage in his knee and the transfer did not go through last month.

However, a report from Het Nieuwsblad claims that the deal is still very much in the pipeline and the two clubs could end up honouring the agreement at the end of the season. Brentford were expected to pay €37 million for the winger and therefore they are being extra careful with his medical tests.

If Brentford decide to back out of the move, clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are waiting in the wings. The two clubs have been mentioned as ‘candidates’ who are keen on signing Nusa and they could look to return in the summer. Apparently, Newcastle United are on the player as well.

Tottenham could certainly use more depth in the wide areas and the 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents in European football right now. He could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for the Londoners.

Similarly, Chelsea have not been able to get the best out of players like Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling this season. Signing a quality wide player would be a wise decision for them and Nusa would be a superb option.
