Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Argentine international striker Lautaro Martinez.
The 25-year-old inter Milan striker has been in spectacular form for the Italian club and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London outfit.
Tottenham have recently sanctioned the departure of Harry Kane and they will have to replace him properly.
The England international is more than just a goal scorer and his playmaking abilities will be missed after his departure as well.
Spurs need to sign a quality sent forward with a well-rounded skill set in order to replace their former captain. Martinez is certainly similar in his style of play and he would be an exciting acquisition.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed to CaughtOffside that Tottenham have been keeping tabs on a number of forwards in recent weeks and they ‘also like’ the inter-Milan forward.
However, Inter Milan are not prepared to sell the 25-year-old this summer and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the Italian outfit to change their stance with a lucrative proposal.
Martinez scored 28 goals across all competitions last season and he picked up 11 assists along the way. The Argentine international is only going to get better with coaching and experience. He has all the attributes that develop into a world-class forward and he could fill the void left by Kane this summer.
Martinez helped Inter Milan reach the final of the UEFA Champions League last season and he managed to win the World Cup with his country as well. The 25-year-old will be determined to prove himself in the Premier League if a transfer to Spurs goes through.
