Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the AS Monaco defender Vanderson in recent weeks.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is reportedly a target for the North London club, but he is on the radar of Manchester United and Chelsea as well.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Chelsea are currently in the lead to sign the 23-year-old defender and it remains to be seen where he ends up. Spurs are currently well-stocked in the right-back department and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest money in another full back. They should look to improve the other areas of their squad instead.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester United need more depth in the full back areas, and the Brazilian could be the ideal acquisition. He will add creativity and passing ability to the side along with his defensive skill set.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham continue to follow him and come forward with an official offer to sign the player in the coming weeks.
With the Premier League and the Ligue 1 transfer windows now closed, any move would have to wait until the January window. Spurs will have plenty of time to think about potential move, and they should look to press ahead with their priorities first.
Meanwhile, Vanderson will certainly be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League and he will feel that it is the ideal step up in his career now. Spurs will have to pay around €35-40 million in order to get the deal done.
