Tottenham academy star with 5 goals & 7 assists spotted with the first team ahead of Palace game

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham’s young talent, Jamie Donley, has once again been invited to train with the first team ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Spurs are enjoying a successful season, remaining unbeaten and currently sitting at the top of the league.

Spurs went two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal after their win against Fulham on Monday and they have a chance to extend that lead to 5 points if they beat Palace tomorrow.

They lost their superstar Kane to Bayern Munich just days before the season started and many thought that would come as a huge blow for the club.

But the performances suggest they have not missed him one bit. If anything, they have been even better without him.

They did not sign a direct replacement for Kane during the summer transfer window, with Son Heung-min taking up a central role and performing impressively, having scored seven goals in nine games.

And while 18-year-old summer signing Alejo Veliz has been serving as Son’s backup, another young talent, Jamie Donley, is on Ange Postecoglou’s radar.

The latest YouTube video posted by the Tottenham Hotspur official account shows the youngster alongside fellow Spurs academy graduate Alfie Dorrington in the gym with the first team.

Donley, a product of the Spurs academy, has been in excellent form for the Under-21 side this season, netting five goals and providing seven assists in just six appearances.

Donley’s outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed by Postecoglou as he was named among the substitutes in Tottenham’s recent 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

Ange Postecoglou has a reputation for nurturing and developing young players, and he appears to be following that path at Spurs.

Under his leadership, there is a clearer pathway for young talents to make their way into the first team, providing a promising future for the club’s youth prospects.
