Interesting post match presser with Sherwood after the Swansea game, and without having to listen too hard, the question about over Tim’s future is well and truly answered.
It’s top 4 or to use his own words “bye bye Charlie.”
At this stage, a top four finish doesn’t look inconceivable, if the sides above us oblige. That’s our problem, right now at least, and it’s a great problem to have. So, will the Arse, City and the Scousers concede sufficient ground that we can reach the promised land?
Part of the answer lies in the outcome of our home game against City on the 29th. At the risk of pointing out the bleedin’ obvious, we can’t influence the results of other games.
The City game will be vital. And listening to Tim, I like the suggestion that we take the game to them. City have lost just 4 Premier League Games this season. They have all been away games.
With exception of Sunderland, all the games have had 3 goals or more. Villa and Chelsea both won 3-2. This almost tells us all we need to know.
In other news, Nicolas Anelka looks set to be charged by the FA at some point later today. The minimum ban is 5 games, the max is 10, apparently. Henry Winter in this morning’s Telegraph believes that less than 8 would cause a stir. Personally I’d have him deported.
And we’re linked with a £1.5M move for Berbatov. I think he could do a job for us. Especially given the imminent departure of the Midget Gem.
Spurs fans who don’t want Berbatov back, are like punters who would prefer their hooker …to be a virgin.
