‘There are big question marks’: Pundit outlines the main weakness in Spurs ace’ game

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has had an impressive start to the Premier League campaign so far.

The North London club have excelled in the league and Porro has certainly been a reliable performer for them so far. However, Keith Treacy has now revealed on Off the Ball that the Spanish defender needs to prove his defensive pedigree in the coming months.

Treacy added that Porro is quite impressive going forward but there are big question marks over his ability to defend. He added that clubs like Manchester City could exploit his defensive vulnerabilities. He also believes that Liverpool could have caused problems for him if they were not down to nine men by the end of the game.

“I just thought that against the likes of Man City you can exploit that, but with Liverpool with nine men, they couldn’t do much about it. I just think there are some, like Pedro Porro, he’s brilliant going forwards, but defensively there are big question marks,” Treacy said.

Porro has previously shown his offensive qualities during his time at Sporting CP and there is no doubt that he can be a handful going forward. However, he will certainly need to improve defensively and there is no doubt that he has the ability to establish himself as a complete full-back.

The 23-year-old is quite young and he will have plenty of time to develop as a footballer and improve as a defender. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou prefers a free-flowing attacking approach and he needs full-backs who can contribute to the offensive phase of the play as well.

Porro seems like an ideal fit for his style of football and the Spaniard could be an indispensable asset for Tottenham in the years to come if he can improve his defensive ability in future.
