Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

Manchester City have been linked with the Spanish International defender, and it will be interesting to see if they come forward with an offer to sign him.

The 25-year-old has established himself as an indispensable asset for the London club, and they will not want to lose him easily.

Man City need to break the bank

Tottenham insider John Wenham believes that it would take a substantial offer to lure the defender away from Tottenham. Wenham revealed to Tottenham News that it would take an offer of around £80 million to get the deal done. It will be interesting to see if Manchester City are willing to pay that kind of money for him.

“I still think Porro is a top player,” Wenham said.

“I think he just needs a change of manager, and I would like him to remain at the club. However, if Tottenham were going to sell him, it would be for big money. He was signed for £40million, and he has improved significantly since then.

“Therefore, that fee would need to be covered, and Tottenham would want money on top of that, which means it would need to be £80m. That is what it would take for Spurs to accept, and if a club, such as Manchester City, doesn’t want to pay that, then Porro can’t leave.”

It is no secret that they need a top-quality right-back in the summer. They need to replace Kyle Walker properly, and the Spanish International would be an exceptional acquisition.

He has established himself as one of the best right-backs in Europe, and he will help Manchester City at both ends of the pitch. Apart from his defensive qualities, he is exceptional going forward, and he could add a new dimension to the Manchester City attack.

Manchester City have had a disappointing season, and they have missed out on the league title. They were quite disappointing in the Champions League as well. They will look to bounce back strongly next season, and they need top-quality signings. The Tottenham defender could be a transformative addition for them.
