Timo Werner failed to impress

The 29-year-old was on loan at the north London club last season, and he made 27 appearances for them in all competitions. Tottenham had the option to sign him permanently in the summer, but they have decided against it.
His performances were quite underwhelming, and he struggled for regular game time. It will be interesting to see if he can get his career back on track with a move to the MLS. He was regarded as one of the best strikers in European football during his time at RB Leipzig. However, the transfer to the Premier League never really worked out for him.
He failed to make his mark at Chelsea and then Tottenham. He will be desperate to get back to his best once again. The player is still very much at the peak of his career, and he wants to rediscover his foreman confidence.
Tottenham need a backup striker
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring a quality backup striker this summer. Dominic Solanke needs more help in the attack. He was quite inconsistent last season, and Tottenham need more goals on the side. They will be competing in the UEFA Champions League, and they will be up against top-class teams. They need more depth in order to do well across multiple competitions.
Werner will look to join a club where he will get ample opportunities. Discussions are already underway with the MLS outfit, and it remains to be seen whether all parties can finalise an agreement. He does not have a future at the German club, and RB Leipzig will be hoping to get rid of him permanently this summer. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
