‘Talks are progressing well’: Spurs submit opening bid for €30m ace Postecoglou ‘appreciates’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to complete the signing of Radu Dragusin from Italian club Genoa.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, ‘talks are progressing well’ between the two clubs and the Italian outfit are holding out for a fee of around €30 million.

Tottenham have already submitted an initial offer to sign the player for around €25 million and the North London club is reportedly confident of reaching an agreement soon.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou ‘appreciates’ the Romanian defender and he is pushing the club to secure his signature.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a fine young defender in the Italian league and he has the ability to do well in the Premier League as well. He will help Tottenham improve defensively during the second half of the campaign.

The North London club have had their fair share of injury problems this season. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are currently sidelined with injuries. Naturally, they have been quite vulnerable at the back. Spurs will have to address that problem if they want to secure Champions League qualification.

They cannot afford to ship out goals consistently if they want to finish in the top four.

Someone like Dragusin will keep them organised at the back. His arrival will add more depth to the defensive unit as well.

The reported €30 million asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his potential and given the fact that the difference in valuation between the two clubs is just €5 million, it is fair to assume that an agreement will be finalised soon.
