Suddenly Spurs Might Have As Many As 3 Defenders Out Of The Newcastle Clash

By The Boy -

Steve Bruce’s side may be hurtling towards the Championship, but Dr. Tottenham is always available for last-minute house-calls. Only Spurs could spin into an injury crisis during an international break when two of the players listed as being out – didn’t even kick a ball for their respective nations… Ben Davies did not feature for Wales and Sergio Reguillon never even left Hotspur Way.

Worse yet, Matt Doherty took a knock during his 47-minute cameo for the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on 27.03.2021.

Physioroom also lists Heung-Min Son as being out until at least the the 4th of April.

For the Toon, Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar, and Isaac Hayden are also all in doubt of next week’s Premier game.

The Aston Villa game came as a welcome relief, but it is obvious from the unrelenting scrutiny that José Mourinho isn’t going to catch a break from some fans or the press – regardless of results.

He was very good, imposing and didn’t make any mistakes, even though Wales had probably 30% possession, so they were under the cosh quite a bit.

Aye Rodon played well. He definitely deserves a run of games. He’s right footed but plays in the left centre back position. He has pace to compliment Toby. Sanchez is probably pipping Roden to partner Toby as first choice, but I think Rodon can be better. Joe deserves his chance now.

Rodon not Sanchez for me. Apparently he was outstanding for Wales tonight against your countrymen.

Jared Bowen being “investigated” for an innocuous online comment he made 8 years ago when he was 16. Absolute clown shoes.

Russia is a freer society than us now.

Maybe this time, but I’d like not to move Japhet around too much. Serge played LB against Pool some time ago, maybe that could happen again?

Serge – Toby – Sanchez – Japhet

He’s been out 48 days for us now. This is more than his whole injury history for the previous 3 years. All little knocks. He is actually quite tough, nothing serious there.. His last injury for us was his longest ever, a muscle injury for 27 days. He should be fine. Then again I used to say similar about Pam.

“Doherty took a knock. Worst yet” you say … I’d say stroke of luck 👍
