Striker with 28 goals & 26 assists keen on a move but Ange uncertain whether he will be a good fit

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Portuguese winger Jota has intensified in recent months, with manager Ange Postecoglou reportedly pondering a potential move for the winger.

Jota has previously worked closely with Postecoglou during their time in Scotland scoring 28 goals and assisted 26 in 83 appearances under him and the prospect of a reunion in the Premier League has gained momentum.

His fine form saw him join the Saudi Pro League club, Al Hilal, in the summer. But his move to Saudi Arabia has proved to be challenging.

The club’s excessive signings of foreign players has left the Portuguese winger sidelined due to league quota constraints.

As per The Sun, Jota is eager to leave Al Hilal and reunite with his former mentor at Tottenham.

However, the report claims that Postecoglou remains contemplative about Jota’s suitability for the English top-flight.

It says that the Australian still hasn’t “made up his mind” as to whether he wants to sign the former Celtic star.

While Jota’s desire to join Spurs is evident, Wolverhampton Wanderers are also reportedly monitoring the situation closely.

TBH Says:

With Son expected to miss up to 6 weeks of action due to the AFC Asian Cup January, we feel Jota could turn out to be a brilliant signing for Spurs, specially given his previous connection with the Tottenham manager.

But the former Celtic manager is surely a better judge to decide whether he would be a fit for the Premier League.
