Arnaut Danjuma has openly expressed his regret over signing for Tottenham Hotspur in January.
According to reports from The Athletic, the Dutch winger soon regretted his move to Spurs after finding himself down the pecking order at the club, with several star players ahead of him, including Harry Kane, Richarlison, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski.
The winger had almost joined Everton before Spurs swooped in and signed him on loan from Villareal.
However, his move to Tottenham did not pan out as expected.
Under then-manager Antonio Conte, Danjuma was not given enough opportunities, and it became clear that he was not Conte’s preferred choice for an attacking player.
During his time at Tottenham, Danjuma made a total of 12 appearances, most of which were from the bench, and he managed to score 2 goals.
His lack of playing time and the presence of other forwards led to his regret over choosing Tottenham as his destination.
Danjuma has now completed a loan move to Everton, snubbing interest from Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.
This transfer provides him with a fresh start, and he will be hoping to make a significant impact at his new club.
The winger’s time at Tottenham may not have worked out as he hoped, but a new opportunity at Everton could offer him a chance to showcase his talents and rediscover his form.
