Spurs XI to Thump West Ham [Reguilon Starts]

By The Boy -

While few were paying much attention, West Ham were having a decent season. Despite fans not being allowed in stadiums, it’s still been a season to remember for West Ham United who have secured 12 league wins already (D6, L6). Furthermore, they’ve won six of their previous eight Premier League (PL) fixtures (D1, L1), only champions-elect Manchester City can better that during this period.

David Moyes’ side has upped the ante recently, scoring 2+ goals in four of their previous six league matches – a vast improvement after scoring 2+ in four of the prior 14. Meanwhile, at home, they’ve netted in the game’s final 30 minutes in each of their previous three encounters, which has contributed to 40.54% of all their PL goals that have arrived during this timeframe.

Tottenham has secured their berth in the cup final, but otherwise are limping from one game to the next. Harry Kane will be back from injury and boasts four goals in three matches against this lot.

Stat to haunt you? Ahead of this round, no team has scored more goals from corners in the PL this season than West Ham (8).

Sanchez and Dier at the back is a joke. The best partnership for us is Toby and Rodon alongside. I would have started with Bale as he should have built confidence from his last performance and just his presence would give concern to West Hams back four. It is good to see Requilion back but I would like to have seen him and Bale together as Requilion can pick out Bale with his crossing. Dier or Sanchez to concede our obligatory penalty. I just do not understand this love in Mourinho has with Dier. He has cost us so many points and goals this season along with Sanchez. Toby is head and shoulders our best CB and more than capable of playing in an important London derby. Another run out for Bergwijn to what effect I wonder. I would have brought him on for the last 20 mins to add his “running” ability to peg West Ham back in their own half.

Haven’t heard anything, probably just his relative inexperience at Premier League level.

One thing they will be up for it so our attitude better be good from the off. Our confidence is fragile, a goal down and we can crumble, time to show some real fight now only 14/15 games left now.

No Rodon at all,has any reason been given for his absence?
To my mind Dier, suspect as he is,always looks very nervous with Sanchez as his partner.
This is our weak area today and Antonio and Souchek will relish playing against them.Otherwise not a bad selection, although Moura might struggle.

I get the impression with Sanchez that Maureen sees him as another Walkies; a part time brain farting clown who has a quality defender in him which in time could be rooted out. As always, fingers crossed.

Lingard to spurs got rubbished by most as not good enough. To congratulate a team for getting rid of the dross they bought on the 1st place ?

that aside It’s embarrassing that ‘they’ seem in a better place than us . Bad management on (&off the field)

We need to be pro- active rather than re- active..I’v not rated Bale since he came back but his performance in the Ropey league gave me hope..should have given him another go today.

Absolute roobish.
Where West Ham were before and where they are now riding high in the table reflects well on Moyes’s astute signings (Bowen, Czech duo) bonding the side into a competitive outfit!

Wishful thinking against a much improved West Ham side who are above us on merit in the PL table?

Not happy with the team selection as would have played
Rodon (omitted completely), Alli and Bale from the start!
