Spurs have ‘long-standing interest’ in 23-yr-old, club officials scouted him this week

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.

The 23 year old is highly rated in the Bundesliga and he has a big future ahead of him. The left-sided winger was in action against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League during the midweek and several clubs were in attendance to watch him play.

According to a report from 90min, Spurs have “long-standing interest” in the player and their officials ran the rule over the Frenchman this week.

Diaby was quite impressive against the Spanish giants but he has not been at his best so far this season. The 23 year old has just one goal and two assists to his name across all competitions.

It will be interesting to see if he can improve his end product in the coming months.

Diaby is a prodigious talent and he would be a quality long term acquisition for Spurs. It remains to be seen whether the Londoners decide to make a move for him at the end of this season. ‘

Spurs have quite a few players capable of playing in the wide roles, at their disposal right now, and it seems unlikely they will move for the player during the January transfer window.
