Tottenham Hotspur will be on high alert after it appeared another of their star players sustained an injury while on international duty.
The Lilywhites have suffered greatly with fitness issues since the start of last season and this campaign alone, have seen the likes of Dominic Solanke, Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert sidelined at various points — to name but a few.
Spurs are currently languishing in 10th place in the Premier League following a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Ipswich Town last weekend.
Their lack of consistency has put manager Ange Postecoglou under immense pressure and with challenging fixtures against Manchester City and AS Roma to come straight after the international break, it doesn’t exactly get any easier.
Spurs remain just three points adrift of third place in an extremely tight Premier League table, although they’re also just one point clear of Manchester United in 13th.
Cristian Romero comes off injured for Argentina

Postecoglou and Spurs supporters will now be sweating over the fitness of key centre-back Cristian Romero, who played 45 minutes of Argentina’s 2-1 World Cup Qualifying defeat to Paraguay on Thursday night before being replaced at half-time by Leonardo Balerdi.
Argentine journalist Gaston Edul has revealed that Romero has sustained a foot injury, which could prevent him from featuring against Peru on Tuesday.
“Cuti Romero is going to get tested,” he said on X.

“He played with pain in his right foot and is at risk of not playing on Tuesday.”
Spurs were booed off following their defeat to Ipswich, so the last thing Postecoglou needs is for one of his most important players to be sidelined with an injury.
Hopefully for Spurs, Romero’s withdrawal against Paraguay was nothing more than a precaution.
