Spurs ace ‘waiting to see what happens’ regarding future after Postecoglou arrival

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott is reportedly worried about his future at the club.

The north London giants have decided to bring in a new manager and the 21-year-old striker is now willing to work hard and prove himself to Ange Postecoglou during pre-season.

“I’m just waiting to see what happens,” he said to RTE. “Obviously, when I left to come here [Ireland camp] there was still no manager.

“There’s a new manager now. So, I’ll go back in pre-season and try and show him what I can do. And then go from there. As of now, I’m not sure what the situation is.

“I wouldn’t say it’s frustrating. I’d say that’s just football. There’s not much I can do about it. I can just go with it and try and do what I can. Ultimately, I want to play at Tottenham.

“I’ve always said that, that’s where I want to be. Whatever steps I can take to get me there, I’m willing to take.”

The player is set to return to his parent club after a mediocre loan spell at Preston North End. The 21-year-old managed to score just 3 goals in the Championship and it remains to be seen whether he can win over Postecoglu in the coming weeks.

Tottenham have a number of attackers at their disposal and Parrott might struggle to get first-team opportunities at the club next season. It would be ideal for the player to move away from Tottenham permanently.

The player has impressed in League One in the past and he could be suited to that level.

Spurs will have to improve their squad in the coming weeks and they should look to raise funds by selling fringe players like Parrott who are unlikely to make it in the Premier League.

Although the youngster is determined to establish himself as a starter at Tottenham, he is clearly a few levels below the required standard and it would be ideal for him to move on and play regularly at another club.
