Millwall are making a strong push to sign former Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga on a permanent deal.
The English centre-back was recently released by Spurs following the end of his contract, making him a free agent.
Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas reports that Millwall are eager to bring Tanganga back after his impressive loan spell with the club last season.
The 25-year-old defender made a significant impact at the Championship side, becoming a highly sought-after player.
Tanganga joined Millwall on loan during the January transfer window for the remainder of the season.
During his time there, he made 18 appearances, starting in 17 of them, and scored two goals. His performances have cemented his importance to the team, making him a valuable asset. (Transfermarkt)
Millwall manager Neil Harris has openly expressed the club’s strong desire to retain Tanganga, highlighting his positive influence on the team.
However, Millwall are not the only club interested in securing the centre-back. Luton Town and several Serie A teams are also showing interest in Tanganga, as reported by Lyall Thomas.

The appeal of signing Tanganga for free has attracted multiple suitors. Despite having the option to extend his contract by an additional year, Tottenham decided to part ways with the player after 15 years.
Tanganga joined Spurs’ youth academy at the age of 10 and progressed through the ranks, eventually making 50 appearances for the senior team.
With Millwall pushing hard to secure his services and other clubs in the mix, Tanganga’s future looks promising.
As the transfer window approaches, Tanganga will consider his options, with a permanent move to Millwall being a strong possibility.
