Romano confirms Spurs interest in versatile midfielder – Player has already informed club of his decision

Belgian midfielder Stanis Idumbo has emerged as the latest target for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer window.

Speculation heightened after reports from Belgian outlet DS Sports suggested that Tottenham have made a 4-year contract offer to the Ajax sensation, whose current deal runs until 2024.

Fueling the transfer rumors, Idumbo recently scrubbed his social media of any traces linking him to Ajax, indicating a potential imminent move as reported by the same outlet.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now shed more light on the situation, confirming Idumbo’s desire to depart from Ajax, making him a free agent for negotiations come January.

Romano claimed that Tottenham are among six clubs expressing a keen interest in securing the 18-year-old’s signature.

He shared the update on X:

“Belgian 2005 born midfielder Stanis Idumbo Muzambo has decided to leave Ajax. He’s free to sign with any club from January, valid from next season.

“Understand player has already informed Ajax of his decision.”

“Tottenham are among 6 clubs showing interest in Idumbo Muzambo.”

Known for his versatility, Idumbo has showcased his adaptability across multiple positions this season at Ajax, featuring as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, on both wings, and even as a center-forward.

The young midfielder’s ability to play in various roles makes him an enticing prospect for Tottenham, who are in need to bolster their squad in multiple fronts in the January window.
