Report: Wages of Tanguy Ndombele prevent two Serie A clubs from pursuing the Spurs midfielder

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has a couple of weeks to do their best to offload midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The 25-year-old had some supporters boo him during Spurs’ FA Cup match against Morecambe FC.

Furthermore, he didn’t appear in the squad for the EFL Cup second-leg match versus Chelsea. Ndombele has reportedly expressed his desire to depart, and it seems the north London club wants to accommodate him.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via Sports Witness), AS Roma has indeed reached out to attempt a possible transfer to Rome, but the whole operation would be ‘difficult.’

Ndombele’s wages have always been a sticking point for any team looking to take on the player as he makes about €10-million, €5-million of which would need to be taken on by the Serie A club.

Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) has also cited Napoli on the list of potential destinations. However, much like Roma, the midfielder’s wages are again out of reach for the Serie A club.

For the transfer fee and wages there haven’t been many worse in the EPL. Even Pogba turned up 1 in 8 games.

The canteen ladies and the commission based Catering Manager will definitely miss him!

We should give him to Newcastle, for free, with a 50% sell-on clause. They are the only other club I can think of that are as mad as us, when it comes to paying average players big salaries.

Arguably our worst signing, in a long line of calamitous recent player acquisitions, presided over by the hapless incompetent Hitchen and our ‘penny wise pound foolish’, ENIC overlord, Mr Buddy Buy Wrong! [The transfer committee from Hell!].

Totally agree.
Levy will be haggling over just paying 65% of his wages rather than 70%, 2 weeks will come and go and the window will close.

We even keep him, allowing him to fester and stink the place out or we loan him and pay most if not all his wages. Either way we are still paying his wages, but at least if he was somewhere else we wouldn’t have him nicking all the biscuits in the canteen.
