Tottenham are keen on improving their midfield options with the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder has established himself as a key player for the Italian club and his performances have attracted the attention of the North London club.
A report from Sky Sports claims that Tottenham are ‘tracking’ the versatile midfielder and they could look to make a move for him this month. It seems unlikely that Atalanta will sanction the departure of a key player midway through the season and therefore any move might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
Ederson has scored six goals and picked up one assist across all competitions this season and he could develop into a quality Premier League midfielder with the right guidance. Tottenham could certainly use a complete central midfielder like him.
The Brazilian is capable of operating operating as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder. He has the work rate and energy to help out defensively and he will chip in with goals and assists as well.
The midfielder is valued at €22 million by transfermarkt and he has a contract with Italian club until the summer of 2026. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the Italian club with a lucrative proposal this month.
If Spurs can sign him for a reasonable price in January or at the end of the season, the transfer could look like a major bargain in the near future.
