Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
A report from talkSPORT claims that Spurs are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old Premier League striker as the long-term replacement for Harry Kane. It remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for him in the coming months.
It is highly unlikely that Brighton will sanction his departure midway through the season, and Spurs might have to wait until the summer transfer window in order to sign him.
Ferguson has established himself as a key player for Brighton and he scored 10 goals across all competitions last season. The striker has been in impressive form this season as well scoring five goals across all competitions.
It will be interesting to see if he is ready to move to Tottenham in the coming months.
The Londoners could definitely use more quality and depth in the attacking department. The 19-year-old has the potential to develop into a quality player for them and Ange Postecoglou could help him develop and fulfil his tremendous potential.
Tottenham could certainly use another striker who can share the goalscoring burden with Son Heug-min. Ferguson is well-settled in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact if he joins the club.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old is more than just a goalscorer and he will add creativity in the final third as well. Ferguson is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He is still quite young and he could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for the Londoners.
The player is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition and Brighton are likely to demand in excess of £100 million for him. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.
Although he might be an expensive addition right now, he has the potential to justify the investment in the long run.
