Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

The 26-year-old Danish international has been linked with a move away from Portugal, and a move to the Premier League could be ideal for him.

Morten Hjulmand would improve Spurs

He possesses the physicality and technical attributes required for English football, and he could bring much-needed physicality and defensive cover to the Tottenham midfield. They have done well to improve their midfield unit with the signing of Joao Palhinha.

As per Record (h/t SportWitness), the Portuguese International needs a reliable partner alongside him. Hjulmand would be an excellent addition. It remains to be seen whether Spurs decide to make their move to sign the player. He has an €80 million release clause in his contract, and they would have to pay up in order to get the deal done.

Hjulmand is an Arsenal fan with an Arsenal tattoo, and it will be interesting to see how Spurs fans react to his signing if the move goes through. There is no doubt that he is a quality player, and he would help them improve.

The player has been linked with multiple clubs in recent months, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. The asking price could be prohibitive to any potential move. Even though he’s a quality player, he is still largely unproven in a top European league.

Meanwhile, the player has been labelled as “fantastic” by Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim. There is no doubt that he has the ability to do well in English football, and Tottenham would do well to secure his signature. However, Sporting CP will have to be reasonable with their demands.

The midfielder is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to take on a new challenge and move to the Premier League.
