Report reveals Tottenham’s ‘appreciation’ for €15 million-rated defender

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Torino defender Wilfried Singo.

According to a report from Tuttosport, Tottenham like the 22-year-old defender and they could look to make a move for him this summer. The report claims that Spurs ‘never hidden their appreciation’ for the player.

Apparently, the player is valued at €15 million but a deal could be done if an offer of around €12 million is presented.

Singo has a contract with the Italian club until the summer of 2024 and Torino could be under pressure to cash in on him this summer.

They will not want to lose the player on a free transfer, and it makes sense to cash in on him for a knockdown price in the coming weeks.

The 22-year-old is a right-sided full-back and he can operate as a wing-back as well. The defender contributed to two goals and three assists across all competitions last season.

It would be quite surprising if Tottenham decided to sign the Ivory Coast defender this summer. They already have Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal at their disposal.

Furthermore, Djed Spence is also likely to compete for a place in the starting lineup next season.

Even if Tottenham end up selling Royal, they do not need a right-back. The North London club should look to invest in a quality left-back instead.

Singo has been a quality player for Torino and he has a bright future ahead of him. He is likely to struggle for regular game time is the transfer goes through and he should look to join another club.
