Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Lorient striker Eli Junior Kroupi.
The 18-year-old has done quite well in the second division of French football and his performances have attracted the attention of the London club. According to Football Insider, the French outfit would be willing to sell the player this month for a fee of around £20 million.
The report states that they are ready to sanction his departure for “the right price”. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done. They have the resources to pay the reported asking price. The London club recently tried to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich and they were willing to pay around €60 million for him. Clearly, they have the funds in place to get the deal done.
They need to act quickly if they want to sign the player this month. The transfer window closes later today.
Tottenham need to improve their attacking unit and the 18-year-old will be a solid long-term acquisition for them. Signing him for £20 million could look like a bargain in the long term. The asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his potential.
Although he might not be ready to carry the Tottenham attack just yet, he could share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke and support him in the attack. Tottenham need to bring in an understudy to him and the 18-year-old Frenchman seems like the ideal acquisition.

Kroupi is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential. Tottenham have done well to your talented young players, and they could help him improve further.
The move to the Premier League would be a huge step up for the player from the second division of French football, and it will be interesting to see if he can hit the ground running if he joins Tottenham.
