Report claims Tottenham have made a bid for £35 million-rated ace

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this month.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham have not submitted an offer for the 23-year-old versatile midfielder but Roma have decided to turn it down.

Apparently, the offer from the Premier League club was unsatisfactory and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to come back with an improved offer.

Zaniolo has been linked with the move to Tottenham since the start of the season and it will be interesting to see if the Londoners can get the deal across the line before the January window closes.

Tottenham need to add more creativity in the middle of the park and the 23-year-old would be an ideal acquisition.

Zaniolo can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility and technical ability could be very useful for Antonio Conte during the second half of the campaign.

Star striker Harry Kane has had to drop deep time and again in order to create chances because of the lack of creativity in the final third. Someone like Zaniolo could shoulder the creative burden and allow Kane to do the goal-scoring bit.

Conte will know all about the player having watched him closely during his time in Italy and he could help the 23-year-old fulfill his tremendous potential.

Apparently, Roma are prepared to sell the midfielder this month for a fee of around £35 million.

Tottenham certainly have the finances to pay the asking price and it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy is prepared to loosen his purse strings and boost Tottenham’s hopes of securing Champions League qualification for the next season.
