Reliable journalist claims Tottenham sent top scout to watch striker with 61 goals in 98 games

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reportedly sent Tottenham’s top spy Ian Broomfield to Scotland on a four-day scouting mission.

Managers often tend to immediately try and sign players from their previous club but Ange Postecoglou did not do that after joining Spurs from Celtic in the summer. However, that could change soon.

According to the reliable Alan Nixon, the scouts were present in Scotland to watch several players including Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

Furuhashi has been explosive for the Scottish side since joining from Vissel Kobel £4.5million in 2021. Since joining, he has scored 61 goals in just 98 games for the Scottish giants.

Nixon claims that another player the Tottenham scouts had eyes on was Aberdeen’s Slobodan Rubezic. The Montenegro centre-half has made quite an impact in his first season in the Scottish league attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Tottenham signed 7 players in the summer including Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Micky van de Ven, Ashley Phillips, Brennan Johnson, and Alejo Veliz.

All of the signings have made an immediate impact. Vicario has been solid between the sticks while Maddison has easily been one of the signings of the summer.

Micky van de Ven has formed one of the best centre-back partnerships with Cristian Romero at the back.

Brennan Johnson has not gotten a chance to play a lot of minutes due to injury but in the cameos he has made he has been superb.

Tottenham are yet to be beaten in the league and if they win against Chelsea they will go back to the top of the table, 2 points ahead of Manchester City.
