“Really poor” – Ange Postecoglou slammed for poor decision that cost Spurs two points against Everton

By Mehdi Gokal -

Paul O Keefe has blamed Ange Postecoglou for Tottenham losing points at Goodison.

Spurs made a great start to the game as Richarlison scored to give them the lead inside 5 minutes.

But Everton posed a big threat from set pieces through out the game and got back level soon after from a corner.

Vicario failed to punch the inswinging corner away resulting in Calvert-Lewin scoring the equaliser.

Richarlison then scored a beauty from outside the box to restore their lead and it looked like they will go on to win the game until a late stoppage time moment.

Everton had a free-kick late in the game and in an attempt to clear, Romero ended up heading it towards his own goal where Jarrad Branthwaite was there to nod it in.

It was a disappointing result for Spurs and Paul O Keefe believes it was Ange’s ‘poor’ decision that disrupted Tottenham’s rhythm.

He claimed that Spurs made too many substitutes which ended up disrupting their play at a time when they were in control.

After the subs, he felt that Spurs lost control of the game and ended up conceding the late equaliser.

He shared his thoughts on X:

“Too many subs disrupted our rhythm and we then lost control of the game. Really poor last 15 from all concerned.”
