“It feels like home” – New signing says he has already settled in at the club

By Mehdi Gokal -

In January, Tottenham Hotspur successfully secured the signing of Radu Dragusin, a player they had been chasing for some time, beating out competition from clubs like Bayern Munich.

The deal with Genoa saw Dragusin join Spurs on a six-year contract for a fee of €25 million, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons.

Since joining Tottenham, Dragusin has been gradually integrated into the team by manager Ange Postecoglou, making four substitute appearances so far.

In Tottenham’s recent 4-0 league victory over Aston Villa, Dragusin received his longest playing time yet.

He entered the game around the 49th minute as a substitute for the injured Micky van de Ven.

The Romanian defender impressed during his time on the pitch, particularly given the game’s importance, as the score was tied at 0-0 when he came on.

During his 41 minutes at Villa Park, Dragusin showcased his abilities, completing 34 out of 39 passes with an impressive 87% passing accuracy.
He also made two blocks, one interception, and one clearance, totaling five defensive actions. Additionally, he recovered the ball twice during the match, according to data from FotMob.

In a post-game interview, the 22-year-old expressed his satisfaction with his performance and his comfort level at Tottenham.

He said (via quotes via Last Word on Spurs):

“I am very happy to be able to come on and help the team to victory. We have many important games to come that I look forward to playing in. I’ve settled in well here, it feels like home.”

With Micky van de Ven’s injury potentially keeping him out of action for a while, Dragusin could find himself earning a run in the starting XI.

Although Ange Postecoglou stated that the injury isn’t too serious, more information will be known in the coming week.
