Pundit says Tottenham are ‘going nowhere’, urges star to ‘get out’ of the club

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old was linked with big clubs at the start of the season as well but the north London side managed to hold on to him.

With the player entering the final year of his contract in the summer, there have been speculations that he could look to move on.

Kane is yet to win a single trophy at club level and he should look to join a big club capable of challenging for trophies every season.

Popular Pundit Craig Burley has now revealed to ESPN that the 29-year-old needs to show some ambition and join the club capable of competing at the highest level.

He believes that Kane’s goal-scoring numbers won’t mean much if he finishes his career without trophies.

The player has been linked with Manchester United in recent months and Burley claims that Kane is the type of player who could make a huge difference for the Red Devils next year. He could help them win the league title.

“Harry Kane’s starting to bore me. He really is starting to,” he told ESPN. “I don’t care how many goals he scores for Tottenham. This season in particular is ample evidence if ever needed that this club, under this ownership, are only going to be also-rans. If he wants to continue to be a part of that, to break a record and get a statue, where’s the ambition in that?

“There are clubs out there desperate – bigger clubs and better clubs than Tottenham – desperate for players of his ilk, top players. He’s an elite player. He’s a difference maker, in the right team – the difference between Man United possible winning a league next year, depending on one or two other signings, and not. That’s how big he is. That’s the difference he can make. What difference can he make to Tottenham now? He’s been there, he’s seen it. He’s playing that movie. And the movie replays almost all the time, and it’s the same.

“I think he has to fight strongly, and I don’t think he will, to get out of this club that are going nowhere. And if they are going somewhere, it’s years down the line when he’s retired.”

It will be interesting to see what the 29-year-old decides eventually. Tottenham will be desperate to hold on to him for as long as possible.

The England international is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world and his departure would come as a massive blow to the north London club.
