Pundit heaps praise on Tottenham star who ‘kept going’ against West Ham

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur put on an underwhelming performance against West Ham United in the Premier League last night.

The Hammers managed to pick up a 2-1 win away from home and the Tottenham fans will be thoroughly disappointed with the results. The North London outfit have been quite poor in the recent outings and they are now winless in their last five matches in the league.

Last night’s win will come as a major boost for West Ham who have had their fair share of struggles in the Premier League this season. As for Tottenham, it will only add to their miseries.

However, there were a few bright sparks for the home side and Pedro Porro’s performance was certainly one of them. The Spanish fullback has often been criticised for his defensive vulnerabilities, but he was quite impressive on the night and he was deservedly praised for his display.

Popular Pandit Michael Brown revealed on BBC that the Tottenham defender kept trying throughout the game. He looked solid defensively and tried to make things happen going forward.

“Pedro Porro has done well you know. He kept going. He’s across the pitch, he’s up and down, he’s back trying to get balls and trying to do things the right way. Here he goes again,” Brown said on BBC Radio Five Live (7/12/23, 10 pm).

He will now look to build on his impressive performance against the Hammers and help Tottenham bounce back strongly in the upcoming matches. Tottenham cannot afford to continue dropping points if they want to secure Champions League qualification at the end of the season. The manager and the players will have to step up and grind out positive results now.
