Pundit feels 25-year-old Tottenham ace is ‘a different player’ under Postecoglou

By Saikat -

Tottenham have made an impressive start to their Premier League season so far and they are currently on top of the league table.

The arrival of Ange Postecoglou has not only got the North London club playing an impressive brand of football, but the Australian manager has also managed to get the best out of most of his players as well. Players like Yves Bissouma, who struggled last season have been hugely impressive this season.

Similarly, Cristian Romero seems to have gone on to another level. The 25-year-old was undoubtedly Tottenham’s best defender, but the arrival of a quality defensive partner has taken his game to another level.

Popular pundit Darren Ambrose has revealed to talkSPORT that the Argentine international has looked like a different player this season. Previously Romero had too much to do all by himself, but he has now been able to rely on his partner Micky Van de Ven, who has been equally impressive. The sharing of the defensive workload has brought the best out of every player.

In addition to that, players like Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro have been quite reliable in the back four as well.

“Romero seems a different player,” said Ambrose.

“He has got a partner with him that is on a level with him, he trusts him and they have got that partnership built up, with Udogie on the left and Porro on the right.”

Tottenham are now more of a team than they were last season. They have looked quite impressive as a unit and it remains to be seen whether they can build on their impressive start and finish high up the table this season.
